As tantalising it is to the nose and to the taste buds, if you’re an intuitive chances are you’ll know how detrimental it is to your connection with your inner wisdom.
In my book, I talk about a variety of foods, substances and elements that have had a proven effect on either elevating or lowering our levels of consciousness, and shutting off or opening our access to our intuition.
Caffeine is one of them.
Like you, I read a lot of books about various techniques that help us consciously evolve. Logically, I “get” that these techniques work. But what I find is that until I experience the effects of them first hand, I’m not a full believer.
With that, I love experimenting with various techniques and foods to experience what effect they have on me.
Here’s my adventure with caffeine…
Usually when I consciously “tune in” I enter a world where I can access various realms and levels of consciousness. Each has a different flavour and a different experience. It’s hard to put in words but it’s like there are different energetic signatures to the different states, the different spaces, and the different consciousnesses and entities I interact with.
When I’ve had too much caffeine, I try to meditate and I find it difficult to get into a relaxed space. And – when I attempt to intuitively tune in, I find it difficult raising my vibrational frequency to a state of love. The visions, sensations and messages that usually stream freely through me when I tune in to something, simply stop flowing once I have had one or two too many coffees. And the metaphysical realms that are present when I go into that intuitive space normally, are indistinguishable.
And once I do manage to get into what I believe is the right vibrational state, the messages I get are egoic and not divinely inspired.
So – for me, caffeine is disastrous for doing intuitive readings but what is more significant is that it can stop you being in a state of presence.
I find it has an effect of stimulating my creativity in one way in that all the ideas in my head go into overdrive and they pop up left right and centre. I find myself getting scattered, a little manic and distracted. And interestingly, as soon as I go into that state I find that the phone rings off the hook with potential clients who have interesting business opportunities for me that are completely outside my core business or not in line with my truth.
I put that down to changing my energetic frequency to one where I’m sending out scattered and distracted vibes into the Universe. If you like, it’s acting like a magnet drawing in opportunities that will help me be even more scattered and distracted.
I talk to other intuitives and they say the same thing about the intuition stunting effects of caffeine.
Before fully embarking on a path of conscious growth I was a caffeine addict and would often drink 7 -10 cups of coffee a day. As a copywriter, I felt it helped me focus and helped me stay alert when I needed to do all-nighters to get work out on time. Interestingly once I got off caffeine, my writing flowed much more freely and so did my inspiration.
At the end of the day though, your body is your own so on your path to living intuitively just notice what your own experiences are with caffeine . If you’re really tuning into your intuition on a daily basis you’ll pretty quickly get a sense of which foods and substances block or enhance your intuition.
I’d love to hear what your experiences are with caffeine. Feel free to share them here.
